On 9 June 1951 the late Major Peggy Williamson led the final parade of eight members of the Womens Australian Army Corps for the jubilee celebrations in Canberra. Later in June 1951 King George VI approved the title "Royal" and the Corps were designated the Women's Royal Australian Army Corps. Southern Command Barracks.
