General Sir Thomas Blamey inspects units of the Australian Women's Army Service at their headquarters. With him is Major Kathleen Deasey, commandant of the Victorian area. Major Deasey is a well-known educationist, a graduate of both Melbourne and Cambridge universities. She has three brothers serving in the Australian army. (negative by Cranstone).
