Description

South Australian Women's Responses to the First World War

Winifred Wall was fourteen years old and attending Adelaide High School at the outbreak of the First World War. Winifred went on to study medicine at Adelaide University in 1918 and she speaks of the example of older women doctors. She discusses her unquestioning response to the war as well as its positive impact on attitudes to working women.
