Based on papers presented at ‘Women, Leadership and Democracy’, a conference held at the Museum of Australian Democracy in December 2011, Seizing the Initiative: Australian Women Leaders in Politics, Workplaces and Communities brings together a wide range of research to reveal how women in Australia in the twentieth century have negotiated leadership not only in formal politics and political lobby groups, but also at work, in business, in communities and in religious and cultural arenas.

You can access the entire collection, edited by Rosemary Francis, Patricia Grimshaw and Ann Standish here.
