The Canberra Association of Women Graduates was formed in 1944 with the aim of facilitating ‘inter-communication and co-operation between women of universities of all nations’ (1944 Constitution). The Association was affiliated with the Australian Federation of University Women and the International Federation of University Women. Membership was comprised of women holding degrees from any university recognised by the Australian Federation of University Women. In 1960 the Association’s name was changed to the Canberra Association of University Women and in 1974 it was changed again to the Australian Federation of University Women- ACT. |
