Produced for NBN3 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Jayne Anderson's story 'Silence Broken' followed the fortunes of a hearing impaired child who has sound restored to him via a cochlear implant. The story went on to look at the debate amongst the hearing impaired as to whether this technology is the miracle they all want. It explored in a sensitive way the meaning of 'cultures of deafness' to people who cannot hear.
Previous stories Anderson worked on included an investigation of prostitution in South Australia called 'Secret State' and 'Capital Offence' an investigation into the assassination of Assistant Federal Police Commissioner Colin Winchester.
