Summary

WRAACReunited is an online social network established in 2009 with the aim of providing a dedicated on-line community for Australian ex-servicewomen. Motivation for establishing the site, a private forum for ex-servicewomen only, came in response to concerns for the needs of a generation of women, especially members of the Women's Royal Australian Armcy Corps (WRAAC) who were approaching an age and a time when they are searching for old friends, an opportunity to reflect on their lives and a space to experience the camaradie they shared as servicewomen together

This site is the best site for former service women that I have seen. So many reunions for myself and others as well as many new bonds made. So glad I am a member.

I didn't hear about this site until September 2010, at which time I immediately joined it. That first day I located an old Army buddy that I'd been looking for for many years without success. It's a wonderful site, and I log into it almost every day for a quick look-see and catch-up with other site members. I have made new friends on this site since joining, and I can't sing its praises loud enough.

So glad I joined this group. Was how I found out about the 60th WRAAC Anniversary reunion which was a fabulous event. Caught up with friends I hadnt seen for 40+ years.

Can't believe how many hours I have spent on the WR site, since I joined in Mar 2010 - either reading or contributing articles. I originally discovered it when I did an internet search for info re the possibility of a 60th WRAAC Anniversary Reunion being held in 2011.

I have since reunited in person or by telephone with 12 former WRAAC or RAANC Recruit Course members, room-mates, work colleagues, R & Q Friends and very good mates whom I lost contact with unintentionally, some years ago – 40 +.

There are not many days that I don't access WR to check for any new photos and comments, of which there is a varied bunch - nostalgic, funny, historical, " before " pics and " nowadays wrinkles & crinkles " versions of many of us.
However, the bottom line seems to be that we are all so proud to have served in the WRAAC or RAANC or for some, have a relative who served with the AWAS.

Please don't miss the opportunity to be a Member.

I have found friends that I have not seen since my Army days. It has been wonderful to finally meet up again at the 60th Anniversary Reunion. A wonderful group.
