Louis Nowra or Germaine Greer: Which one will be remembered 100 years from now?

Author:
Date: 31 May 2010

In an article published in the March Monthly, Louis Nowra reviews the impact of Germaine Greer’s feminist statement The Female Eunuch, forty years on. Apparently she got it all wrong; because today’s women like to shop and wear make-up. Furthermore, she’s old and ugly… and she didn’t make his mother a feminist. I would urge you all to read his essay, except that would mean you would need to support it by purchasing it, and that I cannot advise. Instead, I suggest you read Phillipa Martyr’s blog in Quadrant http://www.quadrant.org.au/blogs/qed/2010/03/offending-nowra-defending-greer.

Or, if you are after a good old rant, try Helen Razer’s gem at Crikey.com: http://www.crikey.com.au/2010/03/08/razer-the-monthlys-louis-nowra-needs-a-good-vajazzling/.
