Melbourne Women Artists in the Archives: A Free Seminar at SLV on September 7, 2011

Discover two women who contributed to Melbourne creative life in the 20th century, and learn about the Australian Women’s Register.

Dr. Barbara Lemon, State Library of Victoria Creative Fellow, discusses sculptor Ola Cohn, creator of the famous Fairy Tree in the Fitzroy Gardens in Away with the Fairies: The lost history of Ola Cohn.

Katie Flack, State Library of Victoria Staff Fellow, examines Pansy Montague’s tumultuous life in Pansy “La Milo” Montague: Australia’s Living Statue.

Dr Nikki Henningham, Executive Officer of the Australian Women’s Archives Project, will talk about the latest developments on the Australian Women’s Register, including the ARC-funded project ‘Australian Women and Leadership in a Century of Australian Democracy’.
