What makes a good (female) leader?

According to Marina Go ‘female leaders constantly struggle with the paradox of nice versus tough. Is it better to be popular or lead with a steely edge?’ This has been especially true in the wake of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandbergs claims in her book Lean In  that success and likability are positively correlated for men and negatively correlated for women.

Recent research conducted by leadership consultants Jack Zenger and Joseph Folkman offers some hope. Effectiveness is what makes a ‘likable’ leader, and women appear to be doing well. Read what Zenger and Folkman have to say.
