Winter Tales – With Harriet Elvin

‘Passing on the baton from our mothers’

Harriet Elvin reflects on the women who have influenced her life, on the opportunities she has enjoyed in her career, and on how she tries to support, develop and recognise other women, in her role as Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Facilities Corporation. In this role, Harriet manages a number of the ACT’s major cultural venues, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, and historic places Lanyon, Calthorpes’ House and Mugga-Mugga. In Harriet’s talk she will explore how, in life, we each receive a baton – the legacies of the women who have gone before us – and pass it on, by creating legacies for women in the future.

The talk will be followed by afternoon tea. This event is run in association with the Australian Women’s Archives Project.

Date: Sunday, 24 July 2016, 2pm-3pm
Place: Fourth Floor Conference Room, National Library of Australia
Entry $15, includes afternoon tea
