The National Foundation for Australian Women established the Australian Women's Archives Project in 2000, to encourage Australian women and their organisations to preserve their records. This searchable, online register is one element of the AWAP - it is a finding tool for those records. A valuable and growing source of biographical data about Australian women and their organisations, with links to their websites and to the archival repositories where their records are held, the register provides a central accessible point from which scholars can obtain information about women in Australian history.
