Katherine Isobel Sargood (nee Ewen and usually referred to as 'Mrs Sargood' or 'Mrs W.E. Sargood') established the Corowa branch of the Country Women's Association in 1928. She was State President of the CWA (Victoria) from 1936 to 1938 and an office bearer for the South Pacific Region of the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) from 1939 to 1947. She also worked for the Red Cross in England and for a time was honorary secretary of the Society for Overseas Settlement of British Women.
