Summary

Isobel Bennett was one of Australia’s most distinguished and best-known marine biologists. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 1984 Australia Day Honours for ‘service to marine science’, and in 1995 she was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Science from the University of New South Wales.
