Summary
Deborah Morris was elected as one of the two Liberal Party members representing the Brindabella electorate at the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly election held on 19 October 2024. After holding three shadow portfolios she was elected Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party on 10 November 2025.
She was born in Perth, Western Australia, the youngest of four children. When she was three years of age her family moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where her parents worked in a disadvantaged area as social worker and teacher. She returned to Australia aged 18 and gained graduate and postgraduate qualifications. Prior to her election she worked as a journalist and an adviser at both the ACT and federal government levels. She is married with three children.
