The Australian Women's Register

The series (M4080) amounting to two metres of material was deposited by Mary Lowe who was Secretary of the association and includes wartime records of the activities of the Australian Women’s Land Army in Victoria including news cuttings, photographs and the Land Army Gazette, a folder titled ‘Australian Women’s Land Army known personnel and assignments 1942-1945’ [6.50 cms] 1966, copies of the Gazette of the Australian Women’s Land Army Ex-Members Association from 1949 to 1977, copies of the Victorian ex-Australian Land Army Association newsletter  from 1987 to 1996, an Honours thesis ‘The Australian Women’s Land Army in Victoria 1942 to 1945’ by Amanda Bede 1983, a history by Edith Mary Lowe ‘Down to Earth: The Story of the Australian Women’s Land Army in Victoria’ 1991, and a video ‘Australian Women’s Land Army’ 1996.
