The Australian Women's Register

The WA Women’s Hall of Fame aims to recognise, celebrate and record the achievements of Western Australian women, past and present, and to increase public awareness of their contributions to the State. It was established in 2011 to mark the centenary of International Women’s Day and initially inducted 100 women from a wide range of fields. Its activities centre on an annual nomination and induction process, through which women are recognised across categories including arts, business, community, culture, education, health, sport, and STEM and technical trades. The Hall of Fame also maintains a Roll of Honour for posthumous recognition, acknowledging women who made important contributions to Western Australia’s social, economic and cultural development. By publishing profiles, holding ceremonies and encouraging nominations from metropolitan, regional and rural communities, it creates a public historical record of women’s leadership, service, advocacy, creativity and community-building. The organisation also promotes role models for future generations and supports broader recognition of women’s achievements across Western Australia.
