Margaret Collings was an active member of the Australian Democrats who ran for the Wentworth seat in the House of Representatives (1998 and 2001) and for Vaucluse in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly (1999). |

Margaret Collings was very active in the growth of the Australian Democrats in the Eastern suburbs in the 1990s. In her 1998 campaign she was listed as a student. She supported the Democrats as an environmental party which recognised the obligations Australia had to other national as part of a global community. |
