Burgess, Cathy

Cathy Burgess was active in the Australian Greens movement in the Hunter Valley area. She was their candidate in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Port Stephens in 1995 and in the House of Representatives for Newcastle in 1996.


Career Highlights

Cathy Burgess was a member of the Tomago Sands Action Group (TSAG) which campaigned in 1996 to stop the mining company, RZM from destroying old growth forests, polluting the aquifer at Tomago and threatening endangered species.
