An active member of the Australian Democrats, Rachael Jacobs was a candidate in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly elections for Epping in 1999 and for the Australian Capital Territory Senate in 2004. |

Rachael Jacobs was born and bred in the Eastwood area and was educated at local public schools. She was trained as a teacher and taught at many schools in the area, including Cheltenham Girls’ High School and James Ruse Agricultural High School. She described herself as a passionate environmentalist. |
