Joanne May gave her address as Harbord (a suburb of Sydney) when she ran for the seat of Wyong, on the central coast of New South Wales. She did not respond to the Newcastle Morning Herald's request for information and so her candidature appeared to be nominal only, in order to maximise the vote for Pauline Hanson herself, who was running for the New South Wales Legislative Council.
