Merletto, Melva Alice Lorraine

Summary

Melva Alice Lorraine Merletto was a Communist Party of Australia candidate in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly elections for Kembla in 1968. Ten years later she ran for the same post, but again failed to be elected. Melva Merletto, then Melva Harrison, was one of the women who organised street meetings to support the coal miners on strike in 1949.
