Political candidate

In 1952 Grace Stratton was the first woman to stand for election to the Legislative Council in the province of Higinbotham at the Victorian state election. She stood as an Independent, but was unsuccessful. She made her second attempt in 1958 in the same province again as an Independent, but did not succeed.
