Lesley Jackson stood as a candidate for the Australian Labor Party in the Legislative Assembly seat of Portland at the Victorian state election, which was held on 18 September 1999. She was a candidate again in the Legislative Council Province of Western at the 2002 election, which was held on 30 November.
