Jill Bannan stood as an Independent candidate in the Legislative Council Province of Koonung at the Victorian state election, which was held on 30 March 1996. She stood again as a candidate for the Australian Greens Party in the Legislative Assembly seat of Bayswater at the Victorian state election, which was held on 30 November 2002.
