Beverley Broadbent stood as a candidate for the Australia Party in the Legislative Assembly seat of St Kilda at the Victorian state election, which was held on 19 May 1973. She stood again as a candidate for the Australian Democrats Party in the seat of Caulfield at the 1982 election, which was held on 3 April.
