Catherine Stewart stood as a candidate for the Australian Democrats Party in the Legislative Assembly seat of Melbourne at the Victorian state election, which was held on 3 April 1982.She was a candidate again at the 1985 election when she stood in the Legislative Council Province of Gippsland.
