Teresa Wardell was dedicated to the professionalisation of Australian Catholic welfare. She spent time in America working in diocesan bureaux and was later employed with the UNRRA in China, as well as the Catholic Social Service Bureau, the Catholic Welfare Bureau and the Victorian Child Welfare Department back home in Australia.
