Gladys Machin served as a councillor for the City of Caulfield from 1950-59, and was its mayor on two occasions from 1955-56 and from 1960-62. She was appointed OBE in 1962. The Gladys Machin Hall is named in her honour.

This is my grand mothers sister. Gladys' maiden name is SHAW. Wallace was the name of her first husband, second husband was Les Machin.
