Summary
Toni Ridge was nominated for the 1995 A.B.C. Rural Woman of the Year Award, for the Western Plains district of New South Wales. She ran a property at Enngonia.
Although no longer living on that property, she still takes a great interest in the benefits of rural women getting together to network. For eighteen years the ‘Dusting off the Drought Forum’ , held in Dubbo in September 2010, has given her a chance to meet other women who are facing the same challenges.
“You realise that there’s people in various areas of New South Wales in the same boat as you are and for women to exchange their experiences and to get out from these speakers things that you can do, back in your own town or on your own farm to forget about the drought,” she said at this year’s forum.
