Summary

Mary Lowe joined the Australian Women’s Land Army on 26 November 1942 and served until 26 November 1944 on a dairy farm in Girgarre, at the Werribee State Research Farm and fruit-picking at Merrigum. She became Secretary of the Victorian ex-Australian Women’s Land Army Association in 1986 and wrote a history of the AWLA in Victoria, Down To Earth, published in 1991.
